The Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industry, Houria Madahi, confirmed on Thursday that the state of Tizi -Ouzou was a qualitative leap towards integrated tourism.
Mudahi, on a working visit to Tizi Ouzou, appreciated the local movement and the efforts made to get rid of the traditional model of seasonal tourism, by presenting a diverse tourist offer throughout the year.
She said: “Tizi Ouzou has succeeded in making a qualitative shift in her tourist map based on a new strategic approach contrary to the season of seasonal tourism.”
She drew attention to the rich natural, cultural and historical heritage of Tizi Ouzou.
She added that this endeavor, also recorded by other states, falls within the national strategy to diversify the tourist offer and the promotion of the destination of Algeria.
The Minister highlighted the role of the local traditional industry in tourist attraction. She noted the importance of famous craft products similar to the silver jewelry with a yeni, a carpet of Ath Hisham, Fakhkar Maaq and other traditional crafts.
Madahi stressed the importance of including the art of Algerian cooking within the lists of hotel institutions restaurants in order to provide the experience of tasting the local food for tourists.
I also supervised the inauguration of two hospitals, “Chewzi Rice” and “Cedar Constant”, which are located in the Tala Ghilaf region in the municipality of Boughani.
The minister recorded that the process of rehabilitating and updating the climatic station “Tala Ghilaf” is part of the national strategy for the development of tourism.
The climatic station is the first of its kind patriotic, as the reception capacity increased from 400 beds to more than 550 beds.
The wallets of the rehabilitation and modernization project were examined by the “Kaqqout” hotel in the middle of the Idkurn Forest. The center’s completion rate was about 96 percent, with its work to be completed in September 2025.
With the city of Tizi Ouzou, the Minister briefed on the works of the “Amara” hotel, which was estimated at 298 beds. The progress of the re -preparation works was 65 percent.
Mudahi said that the process of rehabilitating and modernizing public hotels in the state of Tizi Ouzou is part of a national program. The program includes the rehabilitation and modernization of 64 hotel facilities, revealing 61 hotels.
Madahi indicated that the users of these establishments are employed among the graduates of the tourist training institutes that provide a working hand with “high efficiency”.
She ended that the areas of Sidi Khalifa, Tigger and Pharaoh beach will be the areas of tourist expansion in Tizi Ouzou.
She said that the aim of this endeavor is to separate lands of a tourist nature and those used in other projects.
