Djelfa.. Participation of 12 states in the National Exhibition for Handicrafts and Tourism Promotion – Algerian Dialogue

The National Exhibition for Handicrafts and Tourism Promotion opened today, Tuesday, in Djelfa, with the participation of 12 states, as part of the celebration of the National Tourism Day, which falls on June 25 of each year.
The pavilions of this exhibition, which was initiated by the National Organization for Youth Tourism, Environmental Preservation and Cultural Heritage in coordination with the Local Directorate of Tourism, included highlighting the local heritage of the participating states, including traditional clothes, artistic artifacts, and others related to weaving and handicrafts.
The local director of tourism and traditional industry, Ali Tawti, explained that the works of this exhibition constituted an opportunity to introduce the local heritage of the participating states. It also allowed direct interaction between the participating craftsmen and representatives of associations active in the field of crafts and traditional clothing weaving.
For his part, the head of the National Organization for Youth Tourism and the Preservation of the Environment and Cultural Heritage, Abdelaziz Arawa, considered that this demonstration provided the opportunity for the public who yearn for such events to learn about the customs and traditions of many of the participating provinces, such as Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, Mughair, Touggourt, Medea and Blida.
Pavilions were also allocated to promote tourism in Djelfa and introduce its local heritage components. The events witnessed a distinguished and active presence of the “Al-Bayazra” Association of Djelfa, which is interested in preserving the Bizarre heritage (hunting with raptors) and the protection of large birds, which sparked the interest of many visitors who were drawn by the curiosity to enjoy watching the birds up close. For reference, these events, which continue over a period of three days, witnessed the participation of emerging institutions in the traditional industry of cosmetics and the tourism content industry, and others concerned with traditional industries that are popular in tourism, such as the Qashabia and the hairy hornbeam.
