The Ministry of National Education launches a calendar to settle the professional status of trade unionists – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The Ministry of National Education announced the launch of a calendar to regularize the professional status of members of accredited trade union organizations, after the expiry of the period allotted for this in accordance with Article 119 of Law No. 23-02 of April 25, 2023, relating to the exercise of the trade union right.

The Ministry’s statement explained that any trade union organization that did not submit its application within the specified deadlines can now submit the nominal lists of those concerned, in preparation for their approval by the Ministry in accordance with Articles 104 to 107 of the same law.

The statement indicated that those concerned are obligated to join their original positions on Sunday, January 4, 2026, pending study of the lists by the Ministry in coordination with trade union organizations.

The calendar announced by the Ministry includes the submission of nominal lists on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 6 and 7, 2026, with the last date for studying them being Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

This measure comes within the framework of enhancing transparency and ensuring the regular exercise of union rights, which contributes to improving the professional status of workers in the educational sector.
