Survey: 90 percent of Algerian employers are optimistic about the growth of the Algerian economy – Algerian Dialogue

The “PWC” survey, in its first Algerian edition, revealed an in-depth view of the trends and aspirations of enterprise managers in Algeria, highlighting that 90 percent of them believe that the Algerian economy will witness greater growth during the next 12 months.
This came during the activities of the 27th edition of the “CEO Survey” held this Tuesday at the Sheraton Hotel in Algiers, in the presence of a number of government members, the head of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, and a number of employers, where four main topics were addressed, the first of which touched on the issue of mines and the steel industry, while the second addressed Addressing the issue of renewable energies, followed by digitization and artificial intelligence, in addition to investment and export.
In this context, the partner at PWC, Mr. Karim Sassi, highlighted that the results obtained confirm that the managers of institutions in Algeria are confident in the prospects for economic growth in the country, especially thanks to their actual commitment to improving their operational goals, as well as the availability of a business climate that facilitates the adoption of economic initiatives.
Mr. Karim Sassi stressed that this first edition of its kind in Algeria has highlighted several key aspects about the business climate in the country, “revealing in particular that 90 percent of Algerian enterprise managers believe that the Algerian economy will witness more sustainable growth over the next 12 months.” It also reflected the strength of confidence and optimism among 87 percent of them in the ability of their companies to achieve growth during the next three years. They also expect practical measures to be taken to overcome the risks associated with inflation and cybersecurity.”
In the same context, Walid Abi Ayyad from PWC explained that 55% of Algerian employers see the changing business climate as an incentive to develop their business compared to the global average.
According to the same measure, 50% of Algerian employers intend to adopt innovation in response to international markets.
Regarding digitization and the use of artificial intelligence, the same speaker confirmed that 57% of Algerian employers expect an improvement in work efficiency, while 50% of them believe that artificial intelligence will have a positive impact during the next three years.
For his part, the Minister of Finance, Mr. Laziz Fayed, considered that the “PWC” survey reflects the climate of confidence in Algeria in the field of investment, and stressed that the latter is not a result of coincidence, but rather a reflection of the reality of the Algerian economy, which has witnessed a qualitative shift thanks to the multiple reforms that the country has witnessed.
Fayed also pointed out that Algeria achieved a growth rate of 4.1 percent last year.
For his part, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, stressed the sector’s vigilance in providing all means of success that guarantee the process of investment activities, including gas and electricity, saying that “all our projects now focus on this economic activity in the country.”
For his part, the Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Mr. Ali Aoun, highlighted that “the mining and steel sector has transformed Algeria from an importer into an exporter,” stressing that he has “full confidence in the dealers active in this sector.”
As for the President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, Mr. Kamal Mawla, he in turn expressed the importance of this day for the Algerian economy in view of the indicators of restoring confidence to economic operators “they are indicators in the green” as evidenced by “the presence of 7,000 companies registered in the field of investment is the largest indicator indicating the return of Algerian investor confidence.” In the investment climate in the country, and that the latter has changed and improved.”
