Significant discounts and neighborhood markets…measures to support purchasing power during Ramadan – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Today, Saturday, the Minister of Internal Trade and National Market Control, Amal Abdel Latif, announced the approval of significant discounts on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, which will be marketed starting tomorrow, Sunday, and include a number of widely consumed items, within the framework of supporting families and preserving the purchasing power of citizens.

This announcement came during the supervision of the Minister of Internal Trade, accompanied by the Minister of the Environment and Quality of Life, Kawthar Kriko, and the Minister of National Solidarity, Family, and Women’s Issues, Soria Moulouji, at the Central Post Office, at the official launch of the national campaign to rationalize consumption and reduce food waste during the holy month.

On the occasion, the ministers visited the various pavilions of the exhibition organized within the framework of this demonstration, which aims to enhance community awareness of the importance of rationalizing consumption and preserving food resources.

In a press statement, Amal Abdel Latif confirmed that this initiative falls within the proactive preparations for the month of Ramadan, which usually witnesses a change in consumer behavior and an increase in demand for basic materials. She also indicated the launch of a broad national awareness campaign under the slogan: “There is abundance… rationalizing consumption is your choice.” and “Ramadan is a holy month, do not make it a precedent in extravagance.”.

The Minister explained that the month of Ramadan, unfortunately, is witnessing a noticeable increase in the waste of some food items, especially bread, calling on citizens to adopt responsible consumer behavior that reflects the values ​​of moderation and solidarity that characterize the holy month.

In the context of ensuring supply and bringing services closer to citizens, the Minister announced the launch of neighborhood markets across various states, which will provide various products at reasonable and reduced prices, with the aim of relieving pressure on the markets and enabling citizens to purchase their needs in comfortable conditions.

Amal Abdel Latif also noted the involvement of economic operators in this dynamic of solidarity, by approving significant discounts that will be offered starting tomorrow, Sunday, in a way that contributes to protecting purchasing power and consolidating the spirit of economic and social responsibility.
