Shangriha checks on those injured in the military plane crash

On Friday morning, Lieutenant General Saeed Chengriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, was transferred to the Central Army Hospital in Ain Naadja, to check on the health condition of those injured in a military transport plane crash.
A statement by the Ministry of Defense stated that this visit comes after the tragic accident that occurred on March 5, 2026, following the crash of a small BE 1900 military transport plane immediately after take-off from the runway of the air base in Boufarik in the First Military Region, resulting in the death of two passengers and the injury of the rest of the crew members with injuries of varying severity.
During the visit, the first team reviewed the health status of the injured and reviewed the level of medical care provided to them. It also provided moral support to the injured and their families, wishing them a speedy recovery and a speedy return to their families.

The President of the Republic, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the Minister of National Defense, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, extended his sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to the families of the two frames who were martyred in the crash of a small military transport plane, Thursday, in the First Military Region.
The text of the condolence statement read: “Following the painful accident that resulted in the fall of a small military transport plane in the First Military Region, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, extends his sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to the families of the two martyrs, praying to God Almighty to include them with His forgiveness and wide mercy in these blessed days and to inspire their families with patience and solace, praying for a speedy recovery for the survivors. We belong to God. And to Him we shall return.”
The Ministry of National Defense said in a statement: “Following a scheduled mission, in the middle of Thursday, March 5, 2026, a small military transport plane of the BE 1900 type crashed directly after taking off from the runway of Boufarik Air Base in the First Military Region, carrying a crew of six (06) members. Unfortunately, this tragic accident resulted in the martyrdom of two (02) passengers and the injury of the rest of the crew with injuries of varying severity. They were quickly transferred to the Central Army Hospital.”
The statement added, “Following this painful accident, General Saïd Chengriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, in his own name and in the name of all employees of the People’s National Army, extends the most sincere expressions of condolences and sympathy to the family of the two martyrs and their relatives, asking God Almighty to grant them patience and solace and to cover the deceased with His wide mercy, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured. The General also ordered the opening of an in-depth investigation to find out the causes of this accident.” And its circumstances.”
