Kais Saied extends the state of emergency in Tunisia until the end of 2026

Tunisian President Kais Saied decided to extend the state of emergency in the country for an additional 11 months, until December 31, 2026.
The Tunisian News Agency reported that the extension decision was published in the Official Gazette of the Tunisian Republic, after the President had extended, at the end of last year, the state of emergency throughout Tunisia, starting from the first of January until the 31st of the same month.
It should be noted that the state of emergency has been in effect throughout the Republic of Tunisia since November 24, 2015, following the terrorist bombing that targeted a presidential security bus in the center of the capital, Tunis, which then resulted in the killing of 12 members of the security forces and the wounding of 16 others, including civilians and security agents.
