Saidal Group, in partnership with Novo Nordisk Laboratory, announced today, Monday, the official launch of the first new generation insulin pens in the Algerian market, as part of a strategic partnership aimed at developing diabetes treatment and enhancing national health security.
The launch ceremony took place at Novo Nordisk’s headquarters in the city of Boufarik (Blida Province), in the presence of the President and General Director of Saidal, Nabila Ben Yaghzer, born Wareth, and the General Manager of Novo Nordisk Algeria, Hamza Ben Harakat, in addition to a number of executives from both sides and representatives of the national and local authorities.
The Sidal statement explained that the two parties have intensified their efforts to work in close coordination since last September, through the signing of the memorandum of understanding and contract in October, all the way to the actual provision of the product. The full production process has also been initiated at the Sidal site in Constantine, with the aim of localizing the manufacture of the drug as soon as possible.
The agreement also stipulates the gradual integration of innovative therapeutic solutions developed by Novo Nordisk, to ensure that Algerian patients benefit from modern and effective treatments in accordance with international standards.
This step is considered a qualitative gain in caring for diabetics, within the national strategy to enhance local production of medicines, reduce dependency on imports, and support the country’s health security.
