Saeed: Universalization of electronic services at the municipal level – New Algeria

The Minister of Interior, Local Governments and Transport, Al-Saeed Saeed, announced the generalization of electronic services at the municipal and state levels, especially in civil status and biometric identification cards, as well as driver’s licenses and biometric passports.

The Minister said, in his intervention during the opening National meeting on innovation and digital transformationorganized by the Mediator of the Republic, said that digital transformation is a strategic and irreversible national choice in implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, pointing out that innovation and digital transformation constitute an essential foundation for building a modern, effective, transparent and close administration to the citizen.

The Minister pointed out that digital transformation is not limited to Digitization of documentsRather, it is a profound structural and cultural transformation in the management of public facilities.

The Minister revealed the adoption of the national identification number as a single identifier that allows linking databases, enhancing the accuracy of information, and developing digital services with the aim of reducing file processing times, reducing pressure on windows, reducing citizen movements, and improving the quality of public service, as well as unifying national databases and linking them to secure networks to facilitate the exchange of information between departments.

Saeed stressed that digital transformation is an effective tool for fighting bureaucracy and reducing illegal practices, noting that the success of the digitization path is linked to qualifying the human resource, updating legal texts, protecting personal data, and establishing a culture of innovation within the administration.
