Removing old buses and distributing imported buses.. The Minister of Interior explains – New Algeria

foot Minister of the Interior, Local Communities and Transport, Al-Saeed Saeed, after listening to the concerns of representatives of transport unions, issued a number of clarifications and measures aimed at organizing the transport sector, enhancing its effectiveness, and improving the conditions for the activity of professionals, touching on the mechanisms of withdrawing old buses and also granting buses whose import was approved by the President of the Republic.
The Minister of the Interior – according to what was stated in a statement by the Ministry – touched on a number of issues at hand that require organizing specialized workshops that bring together various actors, especially with regard to how to grant grants. Buses The import of which was approved in implementation of the decision of the President of the Republic, whereby the mechanisms for its distribution and exploitation will be controlled at the government level, ensuring that it is directed according to the needs and specificities of the states.

andThe Minister instructed the Secretary-General of the Ministry to receive representatives of transporters as soon as possible, in order to study their proposals regarding how to withdraw buses that have exceeded thirty years of service, in a way that allows for the renewal of the national transport hub and the improvement of safety conditions and quality of service provided to citizens.

He also pointed out that the ministry’s departments have prepared a comprehensive road paper to regulate the transportation sector in consultation with various stakeholders, which includes a set of measures aimed at facilitating the granting of licenses and enabling carriers to exploit lines and open new ones, in addition to updating traffic plans across the states, allowing for the creation of a more organized and flexible work environment for the benefit of professionals and improving public transportation services for citizens.

The Minister of the Interior highlighted that the broad movement that has affected the transport managers across a number of states falls within the framework of adding a new dynamism to the sector and enhancing the effectiveness of field management, recalling the measures that have been taken at the sector level, especially granting licenses to operate taxis and opening new routes for the benefit of bus owners, which contributes to organizing activity and enabling professionals to work in clearer and more stable conditions.

On the occasion, the Minister touched on the open reform workshops in the sector, which include in particular improving the management of passenger transport stations, and reviewing a number of regulatory texts to keep pace with the transformations that the sector is experiencing, within the framework of a participatory approach that relies on the involvement of various professional unions.

For their part, the representatives of the unions appreciated the attention given by the President of the Republic to their concerns after they were brought to him. They also praised the good listening shown by the public authorities, stressing their full readiness to contribute to the implementation of the various measures aimed at organizing the sector and improving transportation services.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister directed his highest expressions of thanks and appreciation to president, In exchange for the important decisions taken for the benefit of the transport sector, he also praised the efforts made by the Speaker of the National Assembly, the President of the National People’s Assembly and the Prime Minister in accompanying this vital sector, stressing that the availability of will and determination on the part of the administration and transporters is sufficient to achieve success in the various endeavors aimed at organizing and developing the sector, in a way that serves the public good and responds to the aspirations of citizens.
