Registration of first-year primary school students remotely – New Algeria
The Minister of National Education, Abdelhakim Belabed, confirmed that his ministerial interests are moving towards a zero-paper policy and registering first-year primary school students remotely for the next school entry.
Minister Belabed highlighted in a press statement from the state of Medea during the inauguration of Jami` al-Rassoul Middle School, today, Thursday, that parents of students are not obligated to travel to the educational institution to register their children in the first grade of primary school.
Belabed added that first primary school students can be registered for the next academic season 2024-2025 remotely with zero paper.
The primary official in charge of the education sector in Algeria also noted that every child born in 2018 is required to enroll in first primary school.
The Minister touched on the joint ministerial instruction between the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Interior that enables the identification of students who are not registered in the first grade of primary school when they reach the age of 6, and the application of the law in the event that they are not registered and obligating guardians to do so.
