Facing a deepening gap
Real Madrid is at the top of La Liga after its 191st victory in El Clásico in the league and 262 in all competitions, as it now stands five points behind Barcelona.
Kylian Mbappé did it all
Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe deserved the Best Player of the Match award.
The French world champion did everything in the summit match, as he scored three goals, two of which were disallowed due to the offside position, and he also missed a penalty kick that was enough to put his teammates in a comfortable position during the second half.

Mbappe showed Barcelona’s weaknesses, as he posed a threat to its defense line with every start in which he asked for the ball.
The former Paris Saint-Germain star thwarted the offside plan that Barcelona was famous for implementing last season.
Kylian scored his eleventh goal in the Spanish League this season, after converting the exceptional pass provided by Englishman Jude Bellingham into a goal in the 21st minute of the first stage.

Alonso draws lessons from the derby loss
The young Spanish coach, Xabi Alonso, drew lessons from the huge loss (5-2) he suffered at the hands of his neighbor, Atletico Madrid, at the “Riyad Air Metropolitano” stadium.
The Royal Club has rearranged its cards since then, including the Barcelona match, achieving five consecutive victories, scoring 12 goals and conceding only two goals.
On the contrary, Barcelona suffered its third defeat in the last six matches for all competitions.

One of the strengths of coach Hansi Flick’s squad in the past period has become the flaw this season.
The competitors were aware of the Blaugrana defense strategy, which was carefully prepared by German Flick during the La Liga crowning season.
The El Clásico match demonstrated the difficulties that defenders face when facing teams that rely on quick transitions from midfield to attack, as happened in the first goal shot for Real Madrid.
