Algerian international player Ramez Zerrougui had harsh words for himself and his teammates at FC Twente after their recent draw in the Dutch League.
Twente settled for a 1-1 draw against Telstar Club, which is in penultimate place in the overall standings, in a surprising scenario.
In statements to the “ESPN” network, and reported by the “Al Ain News“Today, Wednesday, Zerrougui said: “The level we showed in the first half was disastrous. “It was a shame for us to play like that.”
He added: “Logically, a storm occurred in the full sense of the word inside the changing rooms between the two halves of the match, and everyone put the dots on the letters.”
He continued: “Then we entered with a different face, and we were able to avoid defeat, even though we originally came to achieve a victory away from home, commensurate with our ambitions to advance in the table.”
Ramez Zarrouqi pointed out: “We were very bad in bilateral conflicts, which are considered the most important element in resolving matches in most cases, and our recovery came too late.”
And he concluded The Algerian star“Now we are forced to accept the situation. We have settled for one point, which will not completely help us achieve our seasonal goals.”
Zerrougui’s criticism of his teammates coincided with his exposure to a campaign of criticism from his club’s fans, who demanded that he wake up from his slumber and play directly, given the extreme slowness he showed in coming up with the ball.
