The production capacity of this project, which falls within the framework of supporting national production and reducing the import bill, is estimated at 10,000 tons/year of dry yeast and 36,000 tons/year of fresh yeast.
This project, which will enter into service during the first sixth of 2026, comes to fill the deficit registered in this vital material, where the progress rate of the works is currently 75%.
The volume of investment, which will provide 300 direct jobs, is estimated at more than 6 billion dinars.
It should be noted that Algeria imports the yeast more than 100 million euros annually, which reflects the strategic importance of this project.
This project, in addition to a similar project, will enable the agency to accompany it in the state of Djelfa, to cover the national demand for yeast almost completely, without the need to resort to import, which enhances the country’s security and food sovereignty and reduces dependency on foreign markets, according to Mr. Rakash’s clarifications during his inspection of the project.
