According to the statement, among the most prominent substances that are prohibited from being used without consulting a specialist doctor are ointments containing strong corticoids such as Betnovate, Dermovate and the like, in addition to chemical peeling products containing strong acids, such as retinoin (Tretinoin) and salicylic acid in high concentrations, as well as fruit acids (AHA / BHA).

The statement added, not to mention skin-lightening creams that contain hydroquinone, as well as mixtures of unknown origin that are circulated without any supervision, and may contain undeclared chemicals that pose a direct danger to skin health.

The organization considered the indiscriminate use of these substances a clear violation of health legislation because of the serious risks that threaten health. Consumers.

The Consumer Protection Organization also confirmed that the indiscriminate use of these substances without a medical diagnosis may lead to serious skin burns, skin thinning, permanent pigmentation, severe infections, and skin deformities that may be difficult to treat later, in addition to the psychological effects that may result from these complications.

In the same context, the organization called on the relevant authorities to intensify oversight of stores and pages that promote such products in illegal ways.
