Prime Minister: President Tebboune attaches great importance to developing Algerian-Tunisian relations

Prime Minister Saifi Gharib made a statement after being received by Tunisian President Kais Saied.

The Prime Minister said, “Today, at the beginning of my visit to the sisterly Republic of Tunisia, I was honored to meet His Excellency President Kais Saied, to whom I conveyed the greetings of his brother, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune. I also emphasized to him in particular the great interest that His Excellency President Abdelmadjid Tebboune attaches to developing bilateral relations and the strong will that challenges him to continue working with His Excellency President Kais Saied in order to push the partnership between the two countries towards more strategic integration and solidaristic development, integrated according to the approach that was reached. It was adopted during the state visit of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to Tunisia in December 2021.

He added, “His Excellency President Kais Saied expressed to me the special appreciation he has for his brother, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his determination to continue working with him to advance the partnership between the two countries.”

The Prime Minister continued, saying, “I also listened with great interest, in this context, to the valuable analyzes of His Excellency President Kais Saied on ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries and mobilize all available capabilities in order to advance the partnership path to the highest levels.”

In this context, the progress of the ongoing preparations for the convening of the Grand Algerian-Tunisian Joint Committee scheduled for tomorrow was reviewed, and the necessity of seizing the opportunity of its convening in order to strengthen the legal and institutional frameworks for cooperation between the two countries and create appropriate conditions for developing the partnership between them to serve the common interests of the two countries and achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.

The talks, added the Prime Minister, dealt in particular with the promising prospects and opportunities for enhancing bilateral trade and investment, which will be the focus of the Algerian-Tunisian Economic Forum, which will be held this evening, with the participation of a large number of economic traders from the two countries, and whose holding confirms the enormous potential of the economic partnership and its role in promoting development in the two countries and achieving the common well-being of our two brotherly peoples.
