Prices of vegetables and fruits…a gradual increase coinciding with the approaching Eid al-Fitr – New Algeria

The prices of vegetables and fruits in various markets of the country have begun to witness a gradual increase, coinciding with the approaching date. Eid al-Fitr Mubarak, as the prices of some products reached unacceptable levels.
The prices of vegetables and fruits in the penultimate week of the month of Ramadan increased slightly compared to what they were in the second week, when most of the prices of vegetables and fruits were somewhat acceptable and within the reach of citizens.
According to what “elhiwar us” found, the price of cucumbers reached in most markets between 200 and 250 DZD, while the price of cowpeas exceeded 400 DZD, salad 250 DZD, carrots 100 DZD, zucchini 150 DZD, potatoes 65 DZD, and tomatoes currently exceeding 100 DZD, after a few days ago they were offered in various markets at prices below 70 DZD, while the price of tomatoes reached 65 DZD in most markets. The price of the cheese is 250 DZD, and the price of onions exceeds 60 DZD.
Fruit prices are also very high, as today the price of oranges exceeds 120 DZD in most markets, the price of strawberries in some of them has reached 900 DZD per kilogram, and bananas are offered at prices exceeding 550 DZD.
In this regard, I wondered Algerian Consumer Defense Organization “Hemaytak” asked about the reason for the rise in the prices of these products, as it published a picture of the prices and the writer commented, “The prices of vegetables are on the rise, so what is the reason?”
