President Tebboune: Our relations with Niger will be a model in Africa – the new Algeria

Algeria – The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, confirmed today, Monday, that the visit of the President of the Republic of Niger, Head of State, Lieutenant General Abderrahmane Tiani, to Algeria, raised the ceiling of brotherhood and friendship between the two brotherly countries, and also ended an abnormal phase in bilateral relations.
The President of the Republic said, in a joint statement with the President of the Republic of Niger, following the talks that brought them together at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic: “I express my pleasure and gratitude in receiving my virtuous brother, Lieutenant General Abderrahmane Tiani, on a visit that we had been waiting for for a while and it came true, thank God.”
The President of the Republic added: “With this visit, we end an unnatural phase characterized by coldness between the two countries, even though the two brotherly peoples continued to communicate with each other.”
The President of the Republic pointed out that the visit of the President of the Republic of Niger to Algeria “raised the level of brotherhood and friendship between us as neighbours, brothers and friends, and we agreed on everything that was taking place between us in terms of security and energy cooperation, including fuel and electricity, as well as cooperation in the field of vocational training, military training and university training.”
The President of the Republic went on to say: “We will preserve the affection that has united us with Niger for generations,” highlighting that the relationship between the two brotherly and neighboring countries will be a model in Africa.
The President of the Republic pointed out that “it was agreed to launch the project to complete the trans-Saharan gas pipeline across Nigerien territory after the holy month of Ramadan, when Sonatrach will take the reins and begin laying the pipeline that passes through Niger.”
