President Tebboune: Justice will be on the lookout for all forms of corruption

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed that justice will be on the lookout for all forms of corruption, stressing that the interests of the people will continue to be served and that the state will not be deterred by difficulties or attempts at interference from within or without.

This came in a speech to the nation addressed by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on Tuesday, before Parliament meeting in its two chambers, at the Palace of Nations at the Pine Club (Algiers). At the beginning of the ceremony, on this occasion, clear verses from the Holy Quran were recited before listening to the national anthem.

In his speech, the President of the Republic praised the activity witnessed by Parliament in its two chambers. He said: “We committed to addressing the proud Algerian people through you, which expresses the political will that we will not deviate from, in a strict embodiment of our commitments, since I was honored by the trust of the honorable people.”

President Tebboune continued, saying: “I committed myself from this platform to a political dialogue with the parties and I am still committed to it, as I declared and explained to some of the party leaders I received,” noting that this dialogue will begin “pending Parliament’s approval of the Parties Law.”

After considering that this dialogue “will be constructive,” the President of the Republic affirmed his commitment to “implementing everything that is agreed upon with the parties.”

President Tebboune spoke in his speech that there are plans to create confusion and division between Algeria and Tunisia, highlighting that “our security extends to Tunisia, and Tunisia’s security extends to Algeria.”

In this regard, the President of the Republic affirmed: “We have never interfered in Tunisia’s internal affairs and we will not interfere,” adding, “We prevent ourselves from interfering one iota in Tunisia’s internal affairs.”

Realized gains

The President of the Republic reviewed the outcome of the achievements and gains achieved in Algeria, where he said, “We will serve the interests of the people, and we will not be deterred by difficulties or attempts at interference from within or without,” stressing that justice will be on the lookout for all forms of corruption and a promise to protect the frameworks of the honest state.

After praising the results achieved by the National Investment Agency, President Tebboune stressed the industry’s contribution to the gross national income in the range of 10 percent, revealing: “We aspire to raise the percentage of industry’s contribution to the gross national income to 12 or 13 percent.”

He pointed out that the coverage of local medicines for the national market reached 82 percent, saving about $200 million by the end of 2025.

President Tebboune said: “We embodied the dream of a strong Algeria with its mines, and Gaara Jbeilat will be the third largest mine in the world,” stressing that at the end of January the first mining train will arrive in Oran.

In this context, the President of the Republic confirmed that phosphate production will increase five times from 1.5 million tons to 10 million tons, saying: “We aspire to deliver phosphate to Annaba by the end of 2026.”

In the agricultural sector, President Tebboune revealed: “We planted 30,000 hectares of corn and we aspire to reach 200,000 hectares in 2027.”

Mr. President revealed that the average lifespan in Algeria has risen to 77 years, 78 years for women and 76 years for men.

He said, “We have reached a 47 percent increase in wages, and we are seeking to raise it to 100 percent, and unemployment is in the range of 9.5 to 10 percent.”

The President of the Republic had arrived at the Palace of Nations, where he was received by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Azouz Nasseri, and the President of the National People’s Assembly, Ibrahim Bougali.
