The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired a working meeting, devoted to agricultural mechanization, today, Monday, according to a statement by the Presidency of the Republic.
At this meeting, the President of the Republic decided to establish cooperatives specialized in renting agricultural equipment of all kinds for the benefit of farmers, with the aim of expanding the areas of cultivated land and raising the returns of national agricultural production, in accordance with the decisions and recommendations of the recent Council of Ministers.
The President also decided, on the same occasion, to create a National Council for Agricultural Mechanization.
According to the statement, the meeting was attended by the Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, the Minister of Industry, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, and officials of Algerian companies and institutions for the manufacture and production of agricultural equipment.
