Trump publishes Macron’s messages and raises controversy over Greenland

US President Donald Trump revealed messages from his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, in which he suggested holding a meeting in Paris after the Davos Economic Forum, in addition to inviting Trump to dinner in the French capital, according to screenshots that Trump posted on his “Truth Social” platform.
The messages indicated that Macron stressed the agreement of the two parties regarding Syria and the possibility of achieving achievements in the Iranian file.
But he expressed his lack of understanding of the US position on Greenland.
Macron also proposed holding a G7 meeting in Paris after Davos.
With the possibility of the presence of representatives from Ukraine, Denmark, Syria and Russia on the sidelines of the meeting.
On the other hand, the White House did not comment on these messages, and a direct response from Trump to Macron was not published.
Trump also published a message from NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte in which he praised “the American achievement in Syria” and affirmed his readiness to work to find a solution to the Greenland crisis.
These developments come as Trump escalated his rhetoric regarding Greenland, stressing that he did not rule out the use of force to control the island.
He threatened to impose extensive customs duties on European countries if an agreement was not reached allowing the United States to purchase them.
Amid widespread concern in Europe and fears of possible repercussions on financial markets.
