People’s National Army: A qualitative outcome in the fight against terrorism and organized crime during the year 2025 – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

During the year 2025, units and detachments of the People’s National Army achieved important field results in the context of combating terrorism, as 67 terrorists were neutralized and 369 support personnel were arrested, in separate operations across various regions of the country.

These operations also resulted in the discovery and destruction of 12 hideouts used by terrorist groups, with the recovery of 104 firearms and 13 bombs of various types, in addition to significant quantities of ammunition of various calibres.

These results fall within the context of the continuing efforts made by the units of the People’s National Army to maintain the security, unity and stability of the country, as the year 2025 culminated in a qualitative outcome that reflects the effectiveness of the approach adopted by the senior leadership of the army in the field of combating terrorism, and highlights the high level of readiness and professionalism enjoyed by our armed forces.

Within the framework of combating organized crime, units of the People’s National Army intensified their operations to confront the phenomenon of drug trafficking, as 2,354 drug dealers were arrested, and attempts to bring 35 tons of processed kif across the border with Morocco were thwarted, in addition to seizing 934 kilograms of cocaine and 40 million hallucinogenic tablets.

These coordinated operations also resulted in the arrest of 18,744 people, the seizure of 498 firearms and 1,747 vehicles, in addition to the seizure of 7,633 hammers, 12,574 electric generators, 280 metal detectors, 2 million and 638 thousand liters of fuel, and 1,850 quintals of tobacco.

The seizures also included 1,298 tons of food items destined for smuggling and speculation, during separate operations across the entire national territory.

On the other hand, joint detachments of the People’s National Army were able to arrest 24,071 illegal immigrants of different nationalities, as part of efforts aimed at combating illegal immigration and protecting national borders.
