Parliament meeting on the political parties law – New Algeria

Today, the Legal, Administrative and Liberties Affairs Committee held a meeting devoted to listening to the representative of the National Construction Movement, Farid Habbaz, to present the movement’s proposals regarding the political parties law.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the committee, Tommy Abdelkader, stressed the importance of expanding consultation to enrich the draft law, highlighting at the same time the importance of this text, which frames a significant aspect of political activity.
When taking the floor, the representative of the Construction Movement appreciated this opportunity, noting that it contributes to the involvement of the political class in building the legislative framework for political parties, and contributes to improving political and party work.
In his intervention, the movement’s representative pointed out that the draft law on political parties touched on many issues, and presented a number of suggestions to the responsible authorities, which were taken care of.
The speaker touched on the movement’s proposals, especially related to digitization in the management of political parties, as well as the phenomenon of the elect changing the political party, the participation of youth and women in political work, in addition to procedures related to organizational changes within political parties, and the issue of political alliances and mergers.
Habbaz also made comments, which included some articles of the draft law, by proposing new wordings. He also valued other articles, such as those related to the conditions for establishing and establishing political parties, and their functioning and approval.
