A symposium in Aflaan discusses threats to coastal security – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Today, Saturday, in Algiers, the National Liberation Front party organized a symposium devoted to discussing “the nature of the new threats to security in the Sahel region,” during which the peaceful and developmental approach adopted by Algeria to enhance security and stability in the region was emphasized.
During his supervision of the opening of the symposium, the party’s Secretary-General, Abdel Karim Ben Mubarak, explained that Algeria, by virtue of its geographical location, its African reach and its liberal history, remains directly concerned with the future of the Sahel region, praising the pivotal role it plays in supporting regional security and stability.
Ben Mubarak pointed out that Algeria’s role in the region is based on several axes, most notably mediation in order to settle disputes, enhancing regional cooperation to confront cross-border threats, in addition to supporting development projects directed at neighboring countries.
He also stressed that Algeria has proven through its positions that stability in the region cannot be achieved through foreign interventions, imposing solutions by force, or marginalizing the will of the people, stressing the importance of adopting approaches based on dialogue and development.
For their part, experts participating in the symposium praised the Algerian approach, which combines political stability and economic development, considering that it represents the most effective option for achieving sustainable peace and stability in the Sahel region.
