Temporarily closing forest areas and public parks.. The state of Algiers clarifies! – New Algeria

The Algiers state authorities announced, today, Tuesday, the temporary closure of all forest areas and public parks, in light of warnings issued by the Meteorological Office regarding strong winds that may reach speeds of up to 120 km/h.

The Algeria state services explained in a statement that the decision includes several spaces, including Al-Sablat Park, Al-Hamma Park, the Zoo and Entertainment Park in Ben Aknoun, Al-Kitani Park, the Water Source Park in Bourouba, in addition to the Ecopark Oued Smar.
This measure will take effect tomorrow, Wednesday and the day after tomorrow, Thursday, as part of preventive measures aimed at ensuring the safety of citizens and their property.

In the same context, the state authorities called on citizens to adhere to safety rules, exercise caution, and avoid going to forest spaces, open public spaces, and coastal areas, with the necessity of installing or removing vases and all objects that are at risk of falling from balconies and roofs.

It also stressed the need to avoid stopping or passing near trees and electricity poles, calling on road users to reduce speed, drive rationally, and hold the steering wheel well, especially when sudden winds blow.
