Opening of the first national competition for medical students in Algeria

The Minister of Youth, in charge of the Supreme Youth Council, Mustafa Hidawi, supervised, on Saturday evening in Algiers, the official opening of the first national competition for medical students in Algeria.

A statement by the Ministry of Youth, published on its official page on the social networking site “Facebook”, stated that this national scientific event organized from December 20 to 23 by the “INITIO” club affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Health Sciences “Dr. Youssef Al-Khatib”, under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and the Supreme Council for Youth, witnesses the participation of “15 medical colleges from various states of the country and in the presence of 90 male and female students.”

In his opening speech during the official opening of the first national competition for medical students in Algeria, Minister Hidawi expressed his pride in this qualitative initiative, stressing that “the real investment is investment in the minds of young people,” and that medical students represent “a fundamental pillar for the future of the health system in Algeria.”

He also praised the role of university scientific clubs, considering that such initiatives “reflect the awareness of Algerian youth and their ability to innovate, organize, and actually contribute to building the nation.”

On the same occasion, he stressed that “the Ministry of Youth and the Supreme Council for Youth will continue their support for all serious scientific youth initiatives that highlight the competencies of young people and open to them horizons of excellence and leadership.”

The Ministry indicated in its statement that sponsoring this event falls within the framework of “supporting young energies, encouraging the spirit of scientific competition, and establishing a culture of excellence and innovation among students, in a way that serves national development and enhances the status of the Algerian university.”
