Opening of nominations for the President’s Award for Arabic Literature and Language 2026 – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

Announce Supreme Council for the Arabic LanguageToday, Tuesday, we announced the opening of nominations for the second edition (2026) of the President’s Award for Arabic Literature and Language, which is directed to encourage research and creativity and enhance the presence of Arabic in various fields of knowledge.

The Council’s statement explained that the award aims to promote the use of the Arabic language in administrative, educational, research and cultural transactions, and in applications and software, in addition to supporting qualitative addition in the fields of science, knowledge and technologies, including works translated into Arabic.

The initiative also seeks to improve scientific output in the Arabic language, monitor national competencies in the related fields of creativity, and value the work of researchers and creators and their achievements of qualitative value, in a way that enhances distinguished intellectual production in Arabic.

The award is awarded annually for the best research and work completed in four main areas:

• The prosperity of the Arabic language: Arabic science, linguistics, Arabic in the digital space.

• Localization of knowledge: Localization of technology, and the role of researchers and academic institutions in consolidating knowledge in Arabic.

• Translation: Translation of science books and machine translation methodologies.

• Literature and creativity: Literary creativity, digital literature, and citizenship values ​​in literature.

The Council indicated that the nomination files will be deposited with the jury secretariat at its headquarters, starting from December 18, 2025 until September 15, 2026, during working days, in exchange for an official receipt.

It is expected that the list of winners will be announced on December 18, 2026, coinciding with the celebration of International Arabic Language Day.
