On its second anniversary…the Algiers Mosque is a beacon of knowledge and a keeper of memory – New Algeria
Today, Tuesday, the Algiers Mosque celebrated the second anniversary of its opening, under the slogan “For an authentic national reference,” in the presence of senior state officials, the Arab, Islamic and African diplomatic corps, scholars and researchers, students of science and media professionals, on an occasion in which the dean of the mosque emphasized the role of the religious edifice in spreading knowledge and promoting moderation.
The Dean of the Algiers Mosque explained. Muhammad Al-Mamoun Al-Qasimi Al-Husseini, in his speech, said that the Algiers Mosque is not just a unique architectural landmark, but rather a comprehensive space for worship and knowledge, for memory and foresight, and for unity and responsible openness, stressing that the past two years were sufficient to test the vision and approach, and transform the dream into an effective institution that serves society and humanity.
In his speech, the dean stressed that the mosque aims to be a space for advanced training, serious scientific research, and balanced cultural dialogue, noting the academic agreements signed between the National Higher School of Islamic Sciences at the University of Algiers, and both the International Islamic University in Malaysia and the University of Zaytouna in Tunisia, to enhance integration and exchange of experiences in Islamic sciences.
At the end of his speech, the Dean of the Algiers Mosque thanked the President of the Republic for his interest in this religious edifice, calling for the Algiers Mosque to be a bastion of national authority, a beacon of guidance, and a bridge of acquaintance and cooperation between peoples.
