The Brazilian national team’s all-time top scorer lost his influence on the field, as he found it difficult to dodge opponents or even provide decisive passes.
He also failed to reach the net for the sixth match in a row, leaving his club unable to register victory for the sixth time as well.
Neymar appeared hostile with his teammates on the floor of the famous Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, on Sunday evening, during the match in which Flamengo won 3-2.
The host team advanced 3-0, with the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star present on the pitch.
The visitors then rallied and scored twice once the coach replaced the favored Samba star in the 85th minute.
Neymar expressed his anger at Santos coach, Juan Pablo Fojvolda, after his change, as he appeared in a video clip kicking water bottles in front of the team bench.
The behavior of player No. 10 led to him being criticized by the Brazilian press and some former players, who described him as selfish.
Santos is floundering in a crisis in the results of this season in the Brazilian League, as it struggles in the last rounds to avoid falling to the second division.
The club, nicknamed “Al-Bixi”, is ranked 17th in the overall standings, having only collected 33 points from the 32 matches it played.
Neymar returned to his childhood club last January, after an unsuccessful experience with Al Hilal Saudi Arabia, which he carried for a season and a half.
The injuries deprived the leader’s fans from enjoying the skills of the Brazilian magician, despite the huge amount that the administration paid to Paris Saint-Germain to include him (90 million euros).
