Today, Thursday, Sayed Ali Zerrougui, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, held a working meeting devoted to discussing the reality and prospects of the Algeria Postal Corporation, in the presence of Ms. Shiraz Bashiri, Director General of the Corporation, along with representatives from the Ministry and the Corporation.
The meeting focused on a number of strategic axes aimed at modernizing Algeria’s postal services and enhancing their performance in keeping with digital transformations and citizens’ aspirations.
During the meeting, the status of the postal infrastructure, programs for expanding the postal network, and continued investment in its development were reviewed in line with the anticipated projects across the various states of the country, ensuring a real approximation of public service to the citizen. The attendees also discussed the reclassification of postal offices according to new standards that take into account the volume of activity and the nature of the services provided, in addition to creating new job positions to support field human resources.
The Minister stressed the importance of strengthening the automated windows and continuing the pace of their operational readiness to ensure the provision of service in the best conditions, while ensuring the provision of cash on a permanent and regular basis in all post offices.
The meeting concluded by emphasizing that modernizing Algeria Post remains one of the sector’s priorities, as it is a major goal of improving public service and enhancing trust between the citizen and the institution.
