Neighborhood markets in 69 states and reducing prices to support citizens during Ramadan – New Algeria

Neighborhood markets will be opened in 69 states, with price reduction initiatives launched to support citizens during the holy month of Ramadan.

This came during, today, Monday, the Minister of Internal Trade and National Market Control, Amal Abdel Latif, chairing a coordination meeting, with the heads and representatives of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, the National Union of General Contractors, the Algerian Beverage Producers Association, the National Confederation of Algerian Employers, the Contractors and Industrialists Club, the Algerian Confederation of Citizen Employers, along with the heads and directors of public economic complexes, and in the presence of the Ministry’s frameworks and officials of the bodies under Guardianship, within the framework of making final arrangements to prepare for the holy month of Ramadan.

During the meeting, it was agreed on the effective participation of economic operators and public complexes in the neighborhood markets, which are scheduled to be launched across 69 states starting next week, allowing the products to be brought closer to the citizen, enhancing their availability, and contributing to market stability during this period.

In this context, the Minister appreciated the involvement of economic operators in initiatives to reduce prices on the occasion of the Holy Month, praising the high social responsibility and high patriotic sense that this reflects, and an important pillar for supporting market stability and enhancing the protection of the citizen’s purchasing power.
