Today, President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune delivered a speech on the occasion of the double anniversary of the founding of the General Union of Algerian Workers in 1956 and the nationalization of hydrocarbons in 1971, which was read by Prime Minister Sifi Gharib.

The President of the Republic affirmed that “on this occasion, we celebrate one of the immortal days in the history of the blessed liberation revolution, in the midst of which Algerian male and female workers declared to join the armed struggle, and expressed – in that period – the embrace of the entire Algerian people for their glorious revolution… among them are the companions of the emblematic martyr Aissat Idir, and the generation of workers and trade unionists who founded one of the citadels and schools of national commitment… whose approach to defending Algeria has been passed down through the generations, as This was confirmed by the positions of the trade union organization in the most difficult stages.” The President of the Republic also added that “what the General Union of Algerian Workers paid from its leaders and leaders who were martyrs of national duty, led by the martyr Abdelhak Ben Hamouda, was the most eloquent of the meanings of patriotism… the truest form of sacrifice… and the most sincere expression of loyalty to the founding pioneers and the principles and values ​​of the November Message.”

The President of the Republic recalled “the decision to nationalize hydrocarbons on February 24, 1971, describing it as a decisive historical sovereign decision.” He also added that “Algerian men and women will continue to remember – with pride – the challenge that the engineers, technicians and technicians took on, with the capabilities available to them to ensure the continuation of production in the energy sector, after the announcement of the extension of sovereignty over our national wealth on February 24, 1971… and these are the ones who were They are role models for those who succeeded them, including qualified professionals, male and female workers in the energy sector, and they still carry out – with competence – the tasks of controlling the various episodes of the value chain of the oil and gas industry, from research and exploration to production, transportation and marketing… Thanks to their efforts, we have been able to double the commercial production of energy.”

President Tebboune explained: “Today we are the seventh largest exporter of gas in the world, and the third supplier to the European market… and we possess the third largest oil reserve in Africa… and I am certain that the prospects are promising – thanks to our male and female workers – and the qualification, competence and experience they possess to translate the strategy of renewing our oil and gas reserves and developing manufacturing projects… and I applaud their efforts and recruitment in the same spirit as their predecessors at this stage in which we work to dedicate the value of effort and act as an engine.” For sustainable development paths in the country… We seek to encourage competencies, especially among our young people, to achieve greater technical excellence and control over technology.”

The President of the Republic expressed his sincere appreciation to all the women and men who are dedicated to embodying major projects… The achievements that have been put into service over recent years… and those that are under implementation… and the others listed on the schedule of projects that are close to the launch signal… are only evidence of their confidence in the process that Algeria is embarking on, and all of this is nothing but the embodiment of economic and social policies, the fruits and features of which are evident every day throughout the regions of the country… And what a source of relief it is when we extrapolate – all of us – In the depths of the redeemed homeland and among the honorable Algerian people, there are feelings of welcome and celebration, which were manifested in their clearest form on the occasion of the inauguration of the Western Mining Railway, which along with other structured projects – with their local and national dimensions – constitutes confirmation of the current national policies being based on the criterion of feasibility and realism, and on fulfilling the sovereign political decision.
