During a qualitative operation, the National Security Services in the capital were able to overthrow an organized criminal group that specializes in trafficking in narcotics and psychotropic substances. Eight people were arrested, with the seizure of approximately 900,000 psychotropic substances and 35 kilograms of treated kif.
A statement from Algiers State Security stated that the operational services of the capital’s security had managed, at the beginning of this week, to overthrow a criminal group consisting of 8 people, specialized in trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, with the seizure of 853,010 psychotropic substances of the type Pregabalin and Ecstasy, in addition to the seizure of 35 kilograms of treated kif.
The same authorities added that the operation carried out by members of the Fourth District of the Bouchaoui Judicial Police for Algiers State Security came after careful exploitation of information about the activity of a criminal group that was preparing to distribute significant quantities of psychotropic substances during the month of Ramadan. Investigators were able to determine the identities of its members, arrest them successively, and control the quantity of drugs and substances at the level of the western suburb of the capital.
The National Security Services in the capital also indicated that the operation, which was carried out under the supervision of the competent prosecution, also resulted in the seizure and recovery of 104 million centimes of criminal proceeds, 11 vehicles and one motorcycle.
The capital’s security reported that, after completing all applicable legal procedures, the suspects were brought before the public prosecutor at the specialized judicial police, Sidi M’hamed, to look into the case.
These qualitative operations carried out by police personnel, in the context of combating organized crime, confirm the readiness and readiness of the security services to protect the citizen and establish security and tranquility.
