Minister of Youth: Algerian youth are the first line of defense against misleading news and cyber campaigns – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The Minister of Youth in charge of the Supreme Youth Council, Mustafa Hidaoui, confirmed today, Saturday, that Algerian youth possess sufficient awareness and ability to confront the false and offensive news being promoted about Algeria through various platforms.
This came during his participation in a high-level session entitled: “Youth versus soft power: the equation of identity and influence”He stressed that Algeria has all the necessary elements to form conscious and qualified diplomatic youth capable of defending the nation, its values and principles in international forums.
The Minister explained that young people, whether inside or outside the country, can be the best ambassadors for their country, reflecting its true image and forming a defense force and a fortified wall for it on the international scene. He also reiterated his emphasis on the ability of Algerian youth to confront false and misleading news, calling for enhancing their awareness of their role in the digital space, and for the continuous defense of national achievements, constants and established principles.
Hidawi pointed out the importance of creating sustainable spaces concerned with providing young people with the correct information, and empowering them with the necessary tools and mechanisms to dismantle malicious campaigns, fallacies, and schemes targeting Algeria’s image.
In the same context, writer Ahmed Bin Saada highlighted the importance of working to correct the false image promoted by some global digital platforms about Algeria, exploited by hostile parties. He stressed that Algeria is a country with a long history, a great revolution, and established principles, in addition to major achievements and projects that deserve to be known and highlighted globally, stressing that defending the homeland in cyberspace requires vigilance and standing firmly in the face of the promoters of false and forged news.
For his part, journalist Mehdi Ghazar pointed out that Algeria has been facing for years what he described as a “real cyber war,” but the Algerian youth responded effectively to it, taking charge of highlighting the country’s true image and defending it in various fields, stressing their constant adherence to national values and principles.
The session, which was attended by cultural and sports figures, witnessed remarkable interaction from the participating youth, who raised questions about mechanisms for empowering them in the fields of youth, religious, artistic, and other diplomacy.
The forum’s program includes organizing workshops on digital, parliamentary, cultural, and sports diplomacy, in addition to climate and economic diplomacy, with the aim of enhancing participants’ skills and expanding their knowledge in the areas of contemporary diplomatic work, in addition to allocating spaces for networking, exchanging experiences, and building effective future partnerships.
