Field Marshal Mohamed Idriss Déby Itno, thanked him very much for the kind invitation he extended to him to participate in this important economic event, and I extend my sincere appreciation for inviting Algeria as a guest of honor, expressing our great gratitude for the welcome and generosity we have received in the sister Republic of Chad.
I salute the continued efforts and strategic vision of the Republic of Chad in the field of developing the hydrocarbons and mining sectors.
Your Excellency the President, the Republic of Chad, under your leadership, is moving steadily towards valuing its natural resources and creating the appropriate climate for investment and partnership. This salon is nothing but a station expressing the promising ambition of this brotherly country, and a continental interface in which its development capabilities are evident.
By participating in this international exhibition, Algeria confirms its commitment to Africa and its will to contribute effectively to supporting the economic development of our continent. It also expresses, with its presence today, its keenness on the positive dynamic that characterizes Algerian-Chadian relations, which was further strengthened by the distinguished participation of His Excellency the President of Chad in the fourth edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF), hosted by Algeria in September 2025, which constituted an important step in the path of strengthening political dialogue and economic cooperation between Our two brotherly countries.
Our country shares, and is fully confident, that cooperation between our two countries is based on historical foundations and fraternal ties, and that this cooperation can today witness new momentum, through concrete projects of mutual benefit, especially since my country, with its experience in the field of hydrocarbons, mines, energy, training and skills rehabilitation, has always been involved in the endeavor of fruitful partnerships with African countries and has contributed to the embodiment of many initiatives aimed at promoting African integration, and in supporting dedicated steps. For the objectives of the African Union Agenda 2063.
Also, Algeria, keen on its historical commitment, is still – as in the past – ready to share its experience, and accompany the efforts of the Republic of Chad in structuring and developing its strategic sectors, through practical cooperation directed at achieving tangible economic results, and to truly express our aspirations to perpetuate the concept of South-South partnership.
Your Excellency the President, in addition to the opportunities that our presence today provides to enhance cooperation within its bilateral framework, we seek with you to give a regional dimension to this very important event in line with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (ZLECAF). This event provides a distinguished platform for dialogue, exchange and partnership, which are factors that enhance African economic integration, allow the exchange of experiences, technologies and skills, and will strengthen the value chains of the strategic sectors represented by hydrocarbons, mines and energy. renewable energy on our continent.
This international exhibition also reflects a collective awareness that Africa possesses natural resources and competencies and has the necessary will to transform these capabilities into a fundamental engine for development and economic integration.
Mr. President, we are certain that Africa’s path towards unity and prosperity goes through strengthening economic cooperation that respects the sovereignty of each country and moves towards creating local value. From this standpoint, Algeria affirms its keenness on African cooperation based on solidarity, sharing experiences, exchanging technologies, and strengthening local capabilities. We are also convinced that the trend towards industrialization and valorization of petroleum, gas and mining resources is an urgent requirement and a fundamental pillar in order to achieve comprehensive sustainable development and enhance the sovereignty of African countries over their wealth.
We are also confident that this salon will allow strengthening partnerships between public/private actors, launching new initiatives, and establishing foundations for structural projects, in the service of the prosperity of the Republic of Chad, the region, and the continent in general. Your Excellency the President, Algeria, which is loyal to the principles of African solidarity, remains convinced that continental cooperation based on mutual respect and common interest will ensure that our continent invests its potential wisely and effectively in the service of the peoples of the continent who aspire to more development and decent living.
Finally, I once again express our sincere thanks to the sister Republic of Chad for the hospitality and generosity it has extended to us, and our hopes that this exhibition (2026 SEMICA Chad) will be crowned with the desired success and contribute to continental integration and cooperation for the sake of an Africa strong in its solidarity and capabilities.
