More than 400 exhibitors in the 23rd edition of the International Tourism and Travel Salon – Algerian Dialogue

The Central Director of the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts, Nabil Malouk, revealed the participation of more than 400 exhibitors in the 23rd edition of the International Tourism and Travel Salon, whose activities will begin tomorrow, Thursday, May 30, and continue until next June 2.

When hosting it, this Wednesday, as part of the “Morning Guest” program on the first radio channel, Maluk highlighted the importance of the economic event through the size of participation and the spaces that include all areas of the tourism product, and he considered it an opportunity for economic operators and professionals to present their services.

The same spokesman stressed that the primary goal of this demonstration is to promote the tourist destination in the first place, as well as to allow customers to conclude partnership and work agreements and contracts, as bilateral meetings will be held between foreign and Algerian customers, as well as between Algerian customers among themselves, through the participation of hotel institutions, as well as tourism and travel agencies and transportation companies. Land, sea, and air, foreign and national, in addition to the participation of innovative youth and owners of emerging institutions with electronic applications active in the field of tourism.

He added, “This important international event is an opportunity to showcase the various services, products and programs that they have prepared. We will find in it different spaces for display, especially for emerging institutions and for the Mujahideen sector in terms of history and memory, as well as a space for culture and arts through the presence of classified national cultural sheds in addition to classified natural sheds as well as training institutions.” Which will participate through the vocational training and education sector.

A space has also been allocated – Maluk adds – for the child, considering him to be a professional in the tourism profession in the future or the tourist of tomorrow, as he will be allowed in this edition to demonstrate his skills, and a diverse entertainment program has been underlined within the context.

At the level of the central pavilion square, the morning guest highlighted the allocation of a space in the form of a village for traditional crafts, through which exhibitors in various professions and crafts will participate. “Traditional crafts are an important and effective tributary to tourism because the tourist is interested in acquiring those souvenir craft products that express the identity and heritage of the region.”

Nabil Malouk confirmed that the International Tourism and Travel Salon will allow preparations for the desert tourism season, which will begin next October, and in this context, the state of El Oued will be the guest of honor, as it is the state that will host the International Desert Tourism Festival, and it is the first state in terms of receiving tourists in the southern states in particular.

Referring to the numbers recorded in the field of tourism, as well as the position that Algeria occupied in the field last year, the Central Director of the Ministry of Tourism and Traditional Industry, Nabil Malouk, said, “In the year 2023, Algeria received more than 3.3 million tourists from abroad, including 1.1 million from the national community residing in the diaspora.. We can say that these are promising and very positive numbers, and we expect them to improve further in the future, so that this sector will have significant returns through which it will contribute to the economic and social development of the country.”

As for what is new in this year’s summer season, it is the concession system expressed through a joint ministerial instruction between the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Ministry of Finance, under a special system for bidding and concessions that gives priority to professionals through a rating scale in order to ensure professionalism in the field of services, especially at the level of beaches, considering that they are spaces. The most frequented.

He added, “The concession system means that we grant, in accordance with the applicable law regarding beaches, a portion of the beach whose area does not exceed 50 percent for exploitation under the concession right. The beach exploiter will pay royalties to the municipal treasury in order to value these public properties, as well as to guarantee basic quality services, and the remaining area of ​​the beach will be left.” For free and free exploitation, and random and chaotic exploitation is prohibited under the direct supervision of the security services.”
