The Ministry of Defense also announced the arrest of 29 drug dealers and thwarted attempts to bring 4 quintals and 38 kilograms of processed kif across the border with Morocco. While 1,061,685 hallucinogenic tablets were seized.
Army detachments in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah, and In Guezam arrested 212 people. 43 vehicles, 77 electric generators, 47 pressure hammers, and 3 metal detectors were seized. In addition to quantities of gold ore mixture, stones and equipment used in illegal gold prospecting operations.
Meanwhile, 12 other people were arrested, and 3 machine guns, an automatic pistol, 3 hunting rifles, 21,925 liters of fuel, and 6 quintals of tobacco were seized, during separate operations.
