Minister of State Mohamed Arkab on a working visit to Burkina Faso – Algerian Al-Hiwar newspaper

The Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, will embark on a working visit to the Republic of Burkina Faso during the period from 12 to 14 February 2026, commissioned by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, according to a statement by the Ministry.

Arkab heads a high-level delegation that includes the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Murad Ajal, the President and Director General of the Sonatrach Complex, Noureddine Daoudi, and the President and Director General of the Naftal Company, Jamal Sherdoud, in addition to a number of executives from the fuel and mining sectors.

The visit falls within the framework of strengthening bilateral cooperation relations, especially in the fields of energy, mines and hydrocarbons, by examining partnership opportunities and exchanging experiences, in a way that supports the path of South-South African cooperation and enhances the energy sector’s contribution to sustainable development on the continent.

The delegation is expected to hold a series of meetings with officials in the Burkinabé government, led by the Minister of Energy, Mines and Quarries, Yacoub Zabre Guba, in addition to officials from national companies, to discuss prospects for cooperation and the development of joint projects.
