
The French Football Federation confirmed on Tuesday that Kylian Mbappe will not undergo surgery. Mbappe (25 years old) was injured in the 90th minute of the match. This occurred when he collided with the shoulder of Austrian defender Kevin Danso, in a tackle during an attempt to head the ball.
Mbappe left the field near the end of the match in an ambulance to undergo an x-ray.
The French Football Federation said on Tuesday statement “Kylian Mbappe suffered a broken nose during the second half of the Austria-France match. Yesterday, Monday, in Dusseldorf.”
The statement added: “The French team captain initially underwent treatment by the medical staff and doctor Frank Le Gall. Who was diagnosed with a broken nose. The diagnosis was confirmed following x-ray examinations at Düsseldorf Hospital.”
The French Football Federation explained: “Kylian Mbappé returned to the French national team camp headquarters. He will undergo treatment in the coming days without undergoing surgery immediately.”
He continued in his statement: “A mask will be made to allow the No. 10 player in the French national team to resume the tournament after a period designated for treatment.”
