The guardianship confirmed that Algeria achieved first place in the Arab world for the fifth year in a row, within the framework of the launch of the tenth annual report on the Arab Impact Factor and Reference Citations “ARCIF” for Arab scientific journals for the year 2025.

In this regard, 426 Algerian scientific journals succeeded among 1,272 Arab scientific journals that achieved the criteria of the “ARCIF” impact factor as a result of examining and studying the data of more than 5,000 titles of Arab scientific or research journals in various fields. Algeria also achieved – according to the same source – first place in the Arab world in terms of the number of authors cited from their scientific production in the Arab world, and their number reached 26,834 authors, an increase from the results of last year’s report amounting to approximately 5,400 authors, adding that Algerian magazines also achieved the highest ranks among the top 10 journals in the disciplines of Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, Islamic Studies and Political Sciences.

On the other hand, Algerian authors succeeded in being among the 10 most influential Arab authors in the fields of economic sciences, finance, and business administration out of the total number of authors cited in their articles, which numbered more than 27,400 authors in this field and media and communication out of the total number of authors cited in their articles, which numbered more than 5,500 authors in this field.

As for the ranks of Algerian universities among Arab universities in terms of “research impact,” the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla ranked fourth in the Arab world in terms of the number of citations obtained by articles published in its journals.

It ranks eighth in the Arab world in terms of the number of citations obtained by authors affiliated with it.

The University of Mohamed Kheidar in Biskra also ranked tenth in the Arab world in terms of the number of citations obtained by authors affiliated with it.
