On the morning of Sunday, the head of the National Observatory for Civil Society, Hamlawi Ibtisam, supervised the launch of the Great National Campaign for Blindness and Prevention of Rabies, at the headquarters of the National Organization for rabies, coinciding with the revival of the International Day of Rabies Day, corresponding to September 28.
This initiative falls within the framework of strengthening societal awareness about the dangers of this disease, and the importance of preventing it through regular pollination of animals and immediate sponsorship of all cases of biting or scratching by animals.
The pregnant woman, by the way, also gave the reference to the launching of the formative courses directed to doctors, veterinarians and vaccination agents, in order to raise efficiency and improve the mechanisms of intervention and sponsorship.
The head of the National Observatory for Civil Society confirmed that this campaign will be embodied through the entire states of the country, by mobilizing local associations, awareness convoys, and direct running work with citizens, especially in remote and geographical areas.
She also stressed that the success of this campaign depends on the integration of efforts between the various actors, especially civil society, which is an essential link in spreading awareness and enhancing the culture of prevention.
On the sidelines of the launch of the Great National Campaign for Sentence and Prevention of Rabies, the Algerian Organization for the Combating of Rabies organized a training session for the benefit of the Algerian Red Crescent doctors and volunteers, which was devoted to forming vaccination agents under the supervision of veterinarians and specialized doctors.
This session aims to prepare qualified agents for the field contribution to vaccinating the largest possible number of dogs and cats across the various states of the country, considering that pollination is the most effective means to prevent the spread of this disease and protect public health, and also focused on enhancing the skills of participants through theoretical and applied training on pollination techniques, ways to deal with animals, and ensure field conditions in order to ensure greater efficiency of the national campaign.
This step comes within the framework of building a national network of competent components, in a manner that ensures the continuity of the campaign, expanding its circle, and achieving the goals that are gradually ruled to eliminate rabies.
