The Algerian Karate-Do Federation announced that Algeria won the honor of organizing the 2026 African Championship for the junior, middle and senior categories.
The African Karate-Do Federation issued its decision granting Algeria the hosting of the competition on December 28.
The tournament will be held during the period from 7 to 13 September 2026.
The Algerian Karate-Do Federation wrote in an official statement: “This organizational coronation is the result of continuous work and strategic moves led by Mr. Reda Ben Kaddour, President of the Algerian Karate-Do Federation, along with his men and the technical and administrative frameworks. Algeria was able, through an integrated organizational file and strong technical and logistical guarantees, to gain the unanimous confidence of the African Union.”
The former world champion in sports, and the current president of the Algerian Federation, Reda Ben Kaddour, thanked the Minister of Sports, Walid Sadi, who harnessed all available capabilities to support the file.
Results of the national team in the 2025 tournament
The national karate-do teams in the junior, intermediate and senior categories achieved honorable results during the recent African Championship in Abuja, Nigeria (July 2025).
Male and female wrestlers won 12 different medals, including two gold.

Osama Zaid – silver, 75 kg.
Louisa Abu Rish – 55 kg bronze.
Khadija Gholam – Bronze 61 kg.
Karima Makkawi – Bronze, 68 kg.
Shaima Odira – Bronze, over 68 kg.
Faleh Maidoun – bronze for less than 84 kg.
Hussein Daykhi – bronze, weight more than 84 kg.
♦ Senior Category – Kata:
Nariman Dahlab, silver medal.
♦ Cubs category:
Ayman Bin Khadda – gold medal, weighing less than 52 kg.
♦ Middle Class – Kata:
Abdul Raouf Maazni, bronze medal.
