The Jordanian national football team reached the final of the Asian Nations Cup for the first time in its history, after its victory over South Korea in the semi-finals of the 18th edition hosted by Qatar.
“Al-Nashama” succeeded in defeating their opponent with a clean score on the field of Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium, on Tuesday.
The Jordanian team’s progress in the score was delayed until the 52nd minute, despite its control over most of the first phase.
The star of the French club Montpellier, striker Moussa Al-Taamari, was able to exploit the wrong pass of Korean midfielder Jung-woo Park, to snatch the ball and present it on a plate to his teammate Yazan Al-Naimat, who finished it excellently past goalkeeper Hyun Woo-joo.

Thirteen minutes later, Al-Taamari launched like an arrow towards the opponent’s goal, bypassing three of his defenders, and in the style of the legend Lionel Messi, he shot a low ball with his left foot, which the Korean goalkeeper was unable to stop.

The Arab team was desperate to defend its lead, and did the best to unite in its region to prevent the teammates of Tottenham Hotspur star Hong Min Son from returning in the match.

Emirati referee Mohammed Abdullah Hassan announced the end of the match, with a historic victory for Jordan.
The squad of Moroccan coach Hussein Amouta will get to know its opponent in the final match, on Wednesday, on the occasion of the defending champion Qatari national team facing its Iranian counterpart at Al Thumama Stadium.
The Iranian team qualified for the semi-finals after defeating Japan 2-1 in the quarter-finals, while Qatar narrowly surpassed Uzbekistan as it was forced to play on penalty kicks after the match ended in its original and extra time in a positive draw.
It is noteworthy that the last final between two Arab teams in the Asian Cup dates back to the year 2007, when Iraq defeated Saudi Arabia with an unanswered goal scored by striker Younis Mahmoud.
