An executive decree was issued defining Basic law The model for a public institution of a scientific and technological nature, in Issue No. 06 of Official GazetteThe law opens the way for the first time for professors, researchers of all categories, and students to sell patents and exploit them in exchange for money.
The law – according to the executive decree – clarifies the processes of distributing financial returns in varying proportions between parties participating in the research work carried out by professors, researchers, students, as well as assistants and trainees.
University and research institutions of higher education and scientific research, as well as institutions in the professional community that incubate and support through their means completed and patented works and research activities, receive percentages of the sales proceeds.
