Acting Head of the Independent National Election Authority, Karim Khalfan, stressed that involving young people in decision-making is a national bet for the Algerian state, stressing the importance of qualitative and specialized training for young people in the field of monitoring and observing electoral processes, in order to become familiar with the legal and regulatory framework of the electoral process, and to set the professional and ethical standards adopted in observation, in a way that ensures responsible and professional performance that enhances the credibility of the electoral process.
This came in a speech by Khalfan during the training session organized by the Independent National Election Authority, on Tuesday, for the benefit of members of the Supreme Youth Council on “Mechanisms for Monitoring Electoral Processes,” held on March 3 and 4, 2026 at the Abdellatif Rahhal International Conference Center, at the Pine Club, Algiers.
For his part, the head of the Supreme Council for Youth, Mustafa Hidawi, stressed the importance of this training in strengthening the capabilities of young people and qualifying them to contribute effectively to the democratic process, stressing that involving young people in observing and accompanying the electoral processes reflects the state’s confidence in their awareness and national responsibility, and contributes to consolidating a culture of transparency, integrity and active citizenship. He also pointed out that this initiative falls within a strategic vision aimed at empowering young people politically and enhancing their participation in various national entitlements.
