Hydrocarbon development plan 2026-2030 is the focus of the government meeting

During its weekly meeting, the government heard a presentation on the hydrocarbon development plan 2026-2030, which constitutes a major strategic framework for the development of the hydrocarbon sector and sustainable support for the national economy.

According to a statement by the Prime Minister’s interests, Gharib chaired, on Wednesday, a government meeting devoted to studying several points.

In this regard, the statement explained, “At the beginning, the government listened to a presentation on the hydrocarbon development plan for 2026-2030, as this plan reflects the directives of the highest authorities in the country, especially in the field of developing refining, petrochemicals, fertilizers, and seawater desalination, as well as the measures taken to improve the valuation of hydrocarbons, enhance national energy security, and consolidate the country’s industrial capabilities.”

The government listened, the same source adds, to a presentation on the financing of the African Development Bank for the Laghouat-Ghardaia-Mnaia railway construction project.

The statement stressed, “This project, which is of national importance, falls within the framework of embodying the modernization plan by connecting and establishing the railway network, in line with major projects with high returns.”

On the same occasion, the same statement confirms, “The government studied the status of the Code of Equipment Projects registered in the state budget, with the aim of purging useless operations, allowing the state’s efforts to be directed towards completing ongoing programs of proven economic and social benefit.”

The government also listened to a presentation on a new fodder for sheep called “sheep dates,” which is an innovative product resulting from the optimal use of date waste.

This is an innovative, patented product that was developed by the Center for Scientific and Technical Research for Arid Regions in Biskra, and is part of an initiative to value scientific research applied in the agricultural sector, according to the statement.

It is worth noting that this feed, designed to fatten sheep, would provide alternatives to imported feed corn.

On the other hand, the same statement continues, and in the context of monitoring the situation of areas suffering from water scarcity, and supplying them with drinking water, especially in the south of the country, the government listened to a presentation on the launch of two projects to complete water purification plants from mineral salts in Tamangiste and Tindouf, which were approved by the President of the Republic.

Finally, the statement concludes, the government was informed of the progress of the process of importing and distributing public transport buses, which falls within the framework of implementing the President of the Republic’s program related to the import of 10,000 new buses intended to renew the national park for transporting passengers.
