The Meteorological Department announced the continued fall of heavy thunderstorms and heavy snow across a number of states across the country today, Tuesday, with significant amounts recorded locally.
A special bulletin reported that heavy thunderstorms would continue to fall, with quantities that could exceed 70 mm locally, until six o’clock in the morning tomorrow, Wednesday. This newsletter includes the states of Tlemcen, Ain Temouchent, Oran, Mostaganem, Chlef, Tipaza, Algiers, Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, Mascara, Ain Defla, Blida, Medea and Bouira.
Another warning also warned of the continuation of locally significant thunderstorms until midday today, Tuesday, across the states of M’sila, Djelfa, Laghouat, Ghardaia, Menia, Timimoun, El Bayadh, Naama and Bechar.
In the same context, a special bulletin stated that heights exceeding 800 meters will witness heavy snowfall, with a thickness that may reach 15 cm, and may exceed 25 cm, on the mountains of Al-Sharia, Jurjura, Al-Babur and Al-Wanshris, starting from midday on Tuesday until midday on Wednesday.
The states concerned with this bulletin include Tlemcen, Naama, El Bayadh, Sidi Bel Abbes, Tiaret, Saida, Mascara, Tissemsilt, Ain Defla, Medea, Blida, Tipaza, Laghouat, Djelfa, M’sila, Bouira, Tizi Ouzou, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Jijel, Bejaia and Setif.
The meteorological services also warned of heavy snowfall at heights above 900 metres, with a thickness of up to 10 cm, starting at eleven o’clock at night on Tuesday, and continuing until midday tomorrow, Wednesday, across the states of Mila, Constantine, Skikda, Guelma, Souk Ahras, Oum El Bouaghi, Batna, Khenchela and Tebessa.
