The delegation of the first national handball team arrived, early this morning, in the Rwandan capital, Kigali, after a flight that departed from Algiers, passing through the Turkish city of Istanbul.
Coach Saleh Bouchkario led the Algerian delegation, which included 18 players interested in participating in the African Nations Championship from January 21 to 31.
The Algerian sevens team will begin its journey in the 27th edition of the continental competition, by meeting the Nigeria national team for the first group, on Wednesday, in Kigali.
It will be followed by a confrontation with the organizing country, Rwanda, on January 22, then Zambia, on January 24.

The first national team attended the Africa Cup of Nations in three stages, as the program led by coach Bushkerio extended for a whole month.
Bouchkario and his technical staff, consisting of the former international trio, Radouane Awashria, Abdelghani Loukil, and the goalkeeping coach, Sufyan Al-Imam, were keen to To select the best local players.
He then began physical work during three successive camps.
The veteran coach later moved to the second stage, which witnessed the joining of professional elements, as the team traveled to the Czech Republic and Slovenia.
The technical staff checked the team’s readiness during the camp, which lasted for more than two weeks, as Masoud Barkous’s teammates played four friendly matches.
The national team tied in its first match, 31-31, against the Czech Republic.
The team lost in its second meeting against the Kuwaiti team with a score of 32-25, while it won against Georgia with a score of 32-30 and defeated the Slovenian club Trebinje with a score of 32-31.
The Algerian delegation returned to the homeland, where it resumed work by programming two training sessions allocated by the coach to tactical work.
It was a good opportunity to meet the media family, as the Football Federation invited them to attend the closing training session in the hall of the Higher School of Hospitality and Catering in Ain Al-Benyan, on Friday.
