The legendary Mexico Stadium opens the football wedding
The governing body of world football, led by Swiss Gianni Infantino, chose the historic Azteca Stadium to open the football competition events.
This is the third time that the stadium, located in the heart of Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, has hosted the World Cup, after both the 1970 and 1986 tournaments.

Infantino set the date of June 11, 2026, as the date for the launch of the football forum that fans who love the game await every 4 years.
On the other hand, football fans in Canada will live a historic moment on June 12, 2026, as the country will host, for the first time, a FIFA World Cup match.
Football is not as popular as other team sports in the country, such as ice hockey, basketball, and baseball.
The Canadian team only participated once in the competition that began in 1930, which was in 1986 in Mexico.
He then left the tournament in the first round, after losing in three consecutive matches against France 1-0 and Hungary 2-0 and 2-0.
