Hackathon for vocational training in its first edition in Algeria – New Algeria

Today, Thursday, at the Ben Aknoun Women’s Sports Center, Nassima Arhab, Minister of Vocational Training and Education, supervised the launch of the first edition of the National Hackathon for Vocational Training.

This initiative comes within the framework of the sector’s strategy aimed at establishing a culture of innovation and enhancing the entrepreneurship spirit among young people, and in implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to support innovative projects, especially in the areas of digitization and modern technology.

The hackathon witnesses a wide participation of 447 registrants from various states of the country. 200 candidates were selected, divided into 41 teams representing 37 states, where they compete in strategic areas including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, Industry 4.0, renewable energies, web development, and audio-visual, under the supervision of specialized trainers and supervisors.

The hackathon activities will continue until February 14, 2026, concluding with the presentation of projects and honoring the best innovative solutions, in a step that reflects the sector’s commitment to transforming the ideas of the participants into practical projects that keep pace with the requirements of the digital economy and enhance the position of vocational training in the path of national development.
